Kašperk (Karlsberg) is the specific view point of landscape of upper Pootaví. He extend on the woody spur Žďánov about 3 km north of Kašperské mountains. With the 886 meters above sea level is the highest royal castle in Bohemia. The castle has been built on the orders of Karl IV. to protection of borderline, goldy pathway, goldy pits and placers in the years 1356-1361. Construction of the castle has been led by Vít colled Hedvábný (silky) on the administration way, one´s own castellation had been made probably by Michael Parléř, alleged brother of prestigious architect the St. Vít´s cathedral. Kašperk is kind of new castle architecture of 14th century.
