It's hard to pick just one place. Each of them is original and worth a trip. You can start planning: Radyně, Kozel, Rabí, Velhartice, Zbiroh, Horšovský Týn, Manětín, Přimda and many other castles and chateaus are waiting for your visit.

Where to?

Trip around Kozel Chateau

An easy, roughly two-kilometre-long educational trail leads around Kozel hunting lodge in the Pilsen region. On it, you will meet not only trees, animals and plants, but also forest ghosts and goblins.

Manětín Chateau

How about going to an almost untouristed town where everything seems to be dominated by a unique Baroque style? Manětín is simply stuffed with with Baroque artefacts small and large, which even today surprise many with their thoughtful and timeless concept.

Gutštejn Castle

In the middle of the forests south of Konstantinovy Lázně, there is a mysterious castle dominated by a 20-metre high tower with rounded corners. The history of the castle dates back to the 14th century. Today, it attracts visitors for its unspoilt surroundings, beautiful views and the fairytale atmosphere of the ruins of Gutštejn Castle.

Klenová Castle and Chateau

Thirteen kilometres west of Klatovy, near the Czech-German border, you can spot the extensive ruins of the important medieval castle of Klenová, to which a neo-Gothic chateau was added in the 19th century. The castle offers unique views of central Bohemian Forest.

Horšovský Týn Chateau

The picturesque town of Horšovský Týn is situated in the shallow valley of the Radbuza River. The whole area has been declared a National Cultural Monument for its immense historical value. Today, the chateau is one of the most beautiful and best accessible monuments in the country.

Zbiroh Chateau

The chateau as we see it today was built from the original fortified castle, which was founded at the beginning of the 13thcentury. Over the centuries, several owners changed in possession of the castle and even the overall style has changed to its present Neo-Renaissance form. The castle is home to the deepest dug well in Europe, and the painter Alfons Mucha also stayed here.

Švihov Water Castle

Švihov Castle was built at the end of the 15th century by the royal judge Půta Švihovský, one of the most important men of the Rýzmberk family. Since then, the castle has gone through many phases up to its present reconstructed form.

Nebílovy Chateau

Baroque architecture, ceiling paintings by Antonín Tuvora, exhibitions and the unforgettable atmosphere of the chateau. All this and much more is on offer at Nebílovy Castle, a Viennese-like palace planted in the Bohemian countryside that is definitely worth a visit.
