The Pilsen region is a promised land for animal lovers. You can spend a day with your children in one of the most beautiful ZOOs, in a prehistoric park full of dinosaurs, on a traditional Czech farm, or while watching, holding your breath, deer, lynx, wolves or beavers in the middle of their natural environment.

The Otter at Turner’s Cabin

When strolling around Bohemian Forest, do stop at the stylish Turner’s Log Cabin. It is the only accessible cabin in the first (strictest) zone of the Bohemian Forest National Park on the bank of the Vydra (Otter) River between Antýgl and Čeňkova Pila.

Wolf Spotting in Srní

Come to Bohemian Forest to spot wolves! The Srní Visitor Centre with an exhibition dedicated to the beasts of prey can be found in Bohemian Forest between Srní and Rokyta. You can also take a beautiful walk in the three-hectare enclosure.

Beaver Spotting in Upper Palatinate Forest

The Vodní svět (Water World) nature trail in the Upper Palatinate Forest Protected Landscape Area is dedicated to beavers and other protected animals. It also introduces the unique water ecosystem of the long unused water reservoirs Na Kolmu near Lesná in the Tachov district.

Owl Aviaries in Bohemian Forest

Rare owls are almost impossible to spot in the wild. But you can observe them in the unique aviaries in Bohemian Forest. The starting point is the village of Borová Lada near Kvilda, which lies beyond the border of the Pilsen Region.

Zoological and Botany Garden in Pilsen

The second oldest ZOO in the Czech Republic attracts visitors with more than 1,300 species of animals and the specific displays of Czech River, Underground World, Kingdom of Poison, as well as the Asian and African exhibitions.

DinoPark in Pilsen

A popular children’s amusement park is the DinoPark, which you can find in Pilsen in a beautiful forest park above the ZOO. Not only children will be thrilled by the dozens of life-size moving models of prehistoric animals.

Krasíkov Manor

You can spend an interesting afternoon with your family at the Krasíkov Manor full of domestic animals and horses. The manor is located in the Tachov District near Konstantinovy Lázně.
