The Devil in Šipín
The water from the Sacred Spring was supposed to cure mainly diseases of the eyes and the locomotive system. When St. Barbara started to build the church in Šipín, the devil got in her way and wanted to build a tavern there. What was built during the day, the devil tore down at night. The angry saint threw the devil against a boulder across the valley of the stream with such force that the devil imprinted the entire backside onto it. The boulder was named the Devil’s Stone by the people.
